Rally to call on the Indonesian Government to allow open access to West Papua

Rallies are being held around the world on Wednesday the 29 April calling  on the Indonesian Government to allow  open access to West Papua for journalists and international  NGOs.

Tapol in London has urged demonstrators to wear  all-black clothing to protest the media blackout in Papua. To carry placards, with  ‘censored,’ and have their mouths taped shut. This visual protest will highlight the absence of free and open access to Papua for international journalists and human rights observers.

Australia West Papua Association in Sydney will  hold a peaceful rally outside the Indonesian Consulate at 12 noon on the 29 April.

Rallies are  also being held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne,  Darwin and Perth.
It is now 52 years since Indonesia took over the administration of West Papua and the human rights abuses continue.

Join in calling for open access to West Papua by the international community.
